In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. —Daniel 10:2-3 (NKJV)

Are you going through a difficult moment and wondering how to get God’s attention? If so, think no further! Getting God’s attention is not difficult. All that is required is for you to give Him your attention, and you will get His in return—it’s that simple.

Many people think the problem is getting God’s attention, but the truth is that His attention was never far away. You have it every moment of the day. The reason you may not feel it is because you are not giving Him your own attention. Therefore, make a conscious decision to give God your attention, and you will connect to His, which has always been available to you.

Someone might ask, “Is it really that simple?” Yes, it is. God’s attention is not a mystery. Throughout the scriptures, we see stories of people who needed God’s attention and received it the moment they gave Him theirs.

King Jehoshaphat, for example, got God’s attention when he was besieged. How did he do it? He turned his focus entirely to God:

And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the LORD; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. —2 Chronicles 20:3-4 (NKJV)

As they gave God their attention through fasting and prayer, the answer came immediately:

Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.’ —2 Chronicles 20:14-15 (NKJV)

Did you see that? The moment they gave God their attention, they got an answer. You can get God’s attention the same way. All you need to do is turn your focus to Him, and you will tune in to His attention. Decide what you need His attention for and do what is required. Praise God!
