As a believer, there are many reasons why God wants you to walk in love. First, God has poured out His love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us. Secondly, love is a commandment rather than a suggestion. The Lord Jesus said that loving the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind is the greatest and most important commandment. He added that the second most important commandment is to love your neighbor as you love yourself.
This lets us know that to walk in love is a direct commandment. Beyond these reasons, the major reason you need to walk in love is because when you do, you are walking in the light and are no longer under the power and influence of death. This might sound strange, but the Scriptures clarify that those who do not love are still under the power of death.
The danger in this is that if you are still under the power of death, it means the Devil still has a hold on you, even though you have been delivered from the dominion of darkness. To avoid giving Satan that leverage over your life, it is imperative that you take your love walk seriously and seek to grow in it every day.

The Apostle Paul knew the importance of this and he prayed for the church in Philippi that their love would keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment. He knew that this would lead to a life filled with the good qualities which only Jesus Christ can produce. I admonish you today to prioritize walking in love because this is the primary thing you can do to keep the Devil far away from you. He cannot exist in a place where love reigns supreme. Hallelujah!
I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment, so that you will be able to choose what is best. Then you will be free from all impurity and blame on the Day of Christ.
