“…he who received seed on good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty…” Matthew 13:23 (NKJV)
Understanding God’s word is the key to unlocking the power that the word of God contains. How you might ask? Well that is what it is because the word of God said so. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave a parable of the sower and in explaining it, He revealed this mystery I now share with you. He said, a sower went out to sow. and as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty (Matthew 13:4-8).
Now, in explaining what the parable meant, He said, “…when anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received the seed by the wayside….but he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty…” (Matthew 13:19, 23) letting us know that when we receive God’s word and understand it, it causes us to bear fruit, but when there is no understanding, the wicked one snatches the word that was sown. Therefore, make a conscious decision today to go for the understanding of the word, it will help you bear much fruit in your life. Praise God!
