What are the angels, then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation. —Hebrews 1:14 (GNT)
Having established the reality of the ministry of angels, you might ask: how do you activate their ministry in your life? First, you must believe that they exist and walk in the consciousness of this truth every day. This awareness aligns you with God’s angelic provision, empowering you to walk in partnership with them.
Secondly, you must learn to pray fervently, persistently, and consistently. Nothing activates angelic activity quite like prayer. Throughout the Scriptures, you will see that angels often appeared during the hour of prayer or as a direct result of prayers offered. When the Master prayed in Gethsemane, the Bible says an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him —Luke 22:43 (GNT).
Similarly, when Daniel fasted and prayed, the Bible records that an angel appeared to him and said, Daniel, God loves you. Stand up and listen carefully to what I am going to say. I have been sent to you. —Daniel 10:11 (GNT). Prayer is a consistent catalyst for angelic intervention. If you want to see the supernatural at work, you must be a person of prayer.
Finally, offerings and sacrifices activate the ministry of angels. If you are in the habit of giving offerings to God, angelic ministry can become a present reality for you. A perfect example is Cornelius, the Roman centurion. The Bible records that he saw an angel who told him, Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter —Acts 10:4-5 (NKJV).
We also see this in the case of Zacharias the priest. While he was serving in the temple and burning incense, an angel of the Lord appeared to him on the right side of the altar —Luke 1:8-12 (NKJV). The Bible is replete with stories of those who positioned themselves rightly through prayer and sacrifice. When you do the same, you will activate the ministry of angels and your Christian walk will be a glorious one. Hallelujah!
