“Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” — 1 Kings 17:3–4, 9 (NKJV)
Many today have come to a point in their lives where they think God no longer provides for His people. In fact, there are those who boldly declare that you don’t need God to succeed, or that it’s entirely possible to succeed without Him. Some even argue that God can’t give you money since He doesn’t use money in heaven. But in the midst of these conflicting opinions, what do you believe?
This question is important because what you believe determines what you experience. If you believe that God no longer provides, that belief will shape your reality. But if you believe He still provides, you will begin to see that truth unfold in your life. As the Scriptures say, “…all things are possible to him who believes.” — Mark 9:23 (NKJV). So, make up your mind today to believe that God still provides.
Beloved, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change. While time, culture, and values may shift, God remains consistent—and He is still in the business of providing for His children. All He asks is that you believe.
When we take a closer look at our opening text, we see something remarkable. While the entire land faced a severe famine, God made miraculous provision for Elijah. First, God directed him to a brook where he could drink water, even though the land was suffering from drought. Then, He commanded ravens to bring him food every morning and evening. And when the brook dried up, God didn’t abandon him—He sent him to a widow in Zarephath who sustained him until the famine ended.
It may sound like a fairy tale, but it is a true account of God’s supernatural provision. And the beautiful truth is that the same God who provided for Elijah is the One you serve today. He hasn’t changed, and His ability to provide hasn’t diminished.
So, I encourage you today to fix your heart on God and believe that He still provides. If you can settle this truth in your spirit, you will see Him supply the contract you need, bring the customers, align the connections, and deliver the breakthrough. All He requires is your faith—your willingness to believe that this dimension of divine provision is still very real and available today.
