And she will bring forth a Son, and you can shall His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins….” Matthew 1:21 (NKJV)

As you celebrate Christmas this year, it is very important you celebrate, understanding that there are many reasons why we celebrate Christmas. It is more than a Holiday season; it is a celebration of salvation. Before, our Lord Jesus Christ came to the world, man was living in a fallen state because the first man Adam, made a mistake and through him death reigned on all. In fact, the Bible says “…through one-man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned…” Romans 5:12 (NKJV). However, when our Lord Jesus Christ manifested, He died to take away the sins of the whole world (John 1:29). His purpose of coming was to save man from the bondage of sin and that was why, when the Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, He said to him, “…. Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you can shall His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins….” Matthew 1:20-21) Did you see that? He came with the purpose to die for our sins and pay the ultimate price which made it possible for man to receive the gift of salvation.

Today, when we celebrate Christmas, we are celebrating the gift of salvation which our Lord Jesus Christ brought to mankind through His birth, death, burial and resurrection. Because He came, salvation has become possible. Because He paid the ultimate price for us, we do not need to pay any price again. All we just need to do is accept the price He paid for us and we are saved. So, I encourage you, as you celebrate Christmas this season, do not forget the reason for the celebration. Celebrate with an understanding, celebrate the salvation which you have received in Christ Jesus because this gift came with many other benefits that qualifies us to be called the sons of God. Refuse to ignore this truth I am sharing with you because it will go a long way to help you celebrate the right way. When you wake up every morning this season, take a moment to give God praise for sending His son Jesus Christ who came and took away our sins. Someone might say buy what is it about salvation, that we have to talk about it. Well, there is so much to talk about salvation because it is the key to reconciling with the Father and spending eternity with Him. If our Lord Jesus Christ did not make salvation possible, we would be lost forever. Today, we can be sure of eternity with God and a victorious life here on earth because Jesus Christ came. Hallelujah!
