“…But let a man examine himself….”I Corinthians 11:28 (NKJV)
As believers, there are some practices you can engage in that can literally change your life. One of those practices is regular self-examination. Beloved, self-examination in the Christian walk is something that can completely improve your life and help you fulfil your calling in Christ Jesus, if you will do it with all sincerity and make the necessary change that is required.
But sadly, not many of God’s people engage in this practice. Many do not think it’s necessary and a lot of others do not even know it’s something they need to do. However, I am telling you now that, if you want to transform your life, you must engage in this practice from time to time. Beloved, when you engage in this practice regularly, it will help you understand where you are in Christ, what you need to change and the necessary steps you need to take that will alter the course of your life. When you take time to examine yourself, the things you are doing wrong or not doing well become exposed and a path for solution is revealed.
The Bible told us the story of the prodigal son, how he collected money from his father and went to a far country to squander the money on riotous living and began to suffer. Now, when things became really bad for him, he began to do a self-examination. The Bible says, “….at last he came to his senses and said, ‘All my father’s hired workers have more than they can eat, and here I am about to starve! I will get up and go to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against God and against you….”Luke 15:17-18 (GNT). Did you see that? He came to His senses because he decided to do a self-examination, and guess what, that little moment of sober reflections, brought an end to his days of suffering. Beloved, if you do a self-examination from time to time and you are sincere about it and are willing to make necessary adjustments, you will be amazed, the kind of improvement that will manifest in your life within a short time. So, get to work and do a self-examination today, there will be so much you will discover. Hallelujah!
