“…if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but yours be done…” —Luke 22:42 (NKJV)

Have you ever been in situations where all you just say to the Lord, Father, let this cup pass over me? Have you ever come to that point in your life, where you just keep saying, when will this cup pass over? Well, if you have experienced that or are currently going through something like that, you are not alone. Everyone goes through that stage. Even our Lord Jesus Christ came to that point where He knelt down and prayed, saying, “…if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but yours be done…” Luke 22:42 (NKJV). This was when He was about to pay the ultimate price on the cross of Calvary. He saw His death coming, He saw what was about to befall Him, yet he went for it. It was for this reason He came. He had the option to put aside the mission, but He knew this cup was something he had to partake of.

So he said, “…if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but yours be done…” Luke 22:42 (NKJV). The Bible records that “… being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground…” Luke 22:44 (NKJV). He didn’t give up or complain; rather, He faced it and allowed God’s plan to take its full course. And when this was done, He got the victory. So, whatever it is you are going through right now, I want you to know that, that cup will certainly pass over, all that is required of you is to believe. It is true that the pressure can sometimes be very tough, but the truth remains that if you will hold on a little more, and keep praying and trusting God, you will surely come out of that situation, victoriously. Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA

No matter how tough that situation is, you will surely come out of it victorious!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful encouragement. I refuse this day to be discouraged for any reason, I will keep praying and holding on to your word until I emerge a victor in Jesus’ name. Amen!
