“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)

One of the beautiful truths in our opening text is the admonition: “Be anxious for nothing.” Beloved, the challenges of life can easily drive you into a place of anxiety. The pressures you face can overwhelm you to the point where you lose sight of all the wonderful things God has done for you—and is still doing for you. To avoid falling into this trap, I encourage you to follow the Bible’s instruction.

It says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV). Did you notice those words? It says in everything—not some things—bring your prayers and requests to God with thanksgiving.

The question is, are you still able to thank God in the face of adversity? Can you remain grateful to Him in the midst of what you are going through right now? You should, because thanksgiving is part of the spiritual protocol that activates divine help.

So I encourage you today, no matter what you are facing, choose to give thanks to God. Refuse to allow anxiety to get the better of you. It will not help you or create a solution. In fact, it will only worsen your situation and might even open the door to depression. Instead, make your requests known to God with thanksgiving and watch Him move in ways that will surprise you.

Today’s Rhema

Refuse to give in to anxiety—it will not help you or bring a solution.

Confession for the Day

No matter what comes my way, I will not yield to anxiety or pressure. Instead, I choose to thank God and present my requests to Him through prayer and supplication. As I do this, divine solutions are manifesting in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
