Do not scorn or reject gifts of prophecy or prophecies [spoken revelations—words of instruction or exhortation or warning] —1 Thessalonians 5:20 (AMP)

Prophetic utterances and inspired instructions are a vital part of the body of Christ. They are essential to the growth and development of believers and instrumental to the advancement of God’s work in these end times.

To understand how important this is to God, consider what He said in Joel 2:28: “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…” God desires to use prophecy as a channel to make His thoughts, desires, and purposes known to His children. Through His prophets, He gives guidance, forewarns about future events, and reveals the path He wants us to follow.

So, as a child of God, you must decide to take prophetic utterances seriously. Walk in the consciousness and reality of the Word that comes to you, because that is the key to seeing it fulfilled. Often, people don’t take such words seriously simply because they didn’t come in a spectacular or dramatic way. But remember, it is not the delivery that gives the message its power—it is the involvement of the Holy Spirit that makes it potent. And your belief is what activates its fulfillment.

I encourage you today: when you perceive that an utterance is from God or that an instruction has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, don’t treat it lightly. Embrace it. Act on it. Hold on to it tenaciously, because it carries transforming power.

Confession for the Day

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for bringing this word to me to educate and equip me with kingdom understanding. I decree today that I will always place value on inspired instructions from the Spirit and on prophetic utterances. I hold them in high regard, and I walk in the light they bring. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
