“…But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”….” Matthew 14:30 (NKJV)

As you journey this year, one of the things you must make up your mind to do, is to stop observing the wind and the storm. Beloved, you must understand that whether you like it or not, there will be a storm. You will surely experience some very terrible situations that will break up and shake your faith but in the midst of all the pressure, refuse to observe the storm. Instead keep your eyes on Jesus and His provisions for you through His finished works. Why? Because when your focus is on Jesus our Lord, the storm will have no effect on you. You will be focused enough to face the matter on ground and pray your way out. But if your focus is on the storm, you will not be able to pray or fight the good fight of faith.

Therefore, I encourage you today to stop observing the storms of life. Do not make the mistake that Peter the Apostle made, when he walked on water to meet with Jesus. He started on a good note, but the Bible says “…when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”Matthew 14:30 (NKJV). Did you see that? All was well until he took his focus off our Lord Jesus and saw the wind. The moment he observed the wind, the law of gravity which was initially suspended was activated and he began to sink but that will not be your portion this year. I pray for you that whatever you face or go through, the grace to keep your focus on Jesus is granted you in Jesus name. Amen!

Today’s Rhema

No matter the odds, keep your focus on Jesus not the storm!

Confession for the Day

My Lord and My God, I am grateful for the counsel you have brought me today. I thank you for reminding me of the need to keep my gaze on Jesus and not the storm. Therefore, I choose this day to take my eyes off the storm and keep it on Jesus. I decree that as I do this, I will not sink but stay afloat in the name of Jesus. Amen!
