In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. —John 1:1 (NKJV)
Congratulations on this brand-new year! You stand to achieve so much in the coming months, but there is one priority you must take seriously: starting the year with God. While some have already begun their journey relying on their own strength, that is not the way for a believer. You must prioritize the presence of the Father from the very first day.
Our opening text declares that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This means that God was present at the very start of all things. Everything that came into existence did so because the Creator was there to initiate it. If you want your plans to have lasting substance, they must be initiated in His presence.
The goals you hope to achieve this year will not come to fruition without the Master’s help. You need His presence and influence to navigate the seasons ahead successfully. I encourage you to set aside time to go back to the secret place and camp with Him. There, you will be endued with fresh strength, clear instructions, and divine guidance for the journey.
When you begin your year in this manner and follow through with what the Lord speaks to you, you cannot help but excel. Starting your path with the Savior ensures that you achieve great things over the next twelve months. Watch how things turn out for your good when He is the one leading the way. Hallelujah!
