“…Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire….”Psalm 37:4 (GNT)
One of the greatest human needs today is happiness. Everyone around the world wants to be happy but the sad reality is that many are not happy because they are all looking for happiness in the wrong things and places.
Over the years many have thought that getting material things will make them happy but in the end, it did not. Others have even thought that if they can get more money, they will be happy, but guess what, it did not make them happy either. You know why? Because true happiness cannot be found in anything in this world. As beautiful as this world can be, there is nothing in it that can bring true happiness. The only place you can find true happiness is in Christ Jesus. Yes you heard me right.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only key to happiness because He is everything you can think of. In Him you will find peace, joy and justice. It is for this reason our opening text admonishes that you should, “…seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire…” Psalm 37:4 (GNT). Did you see that? So, make a conscious decision to seek your happiness in Christ Jesus. Refuse to be anxious or allow anything to steal your joy away. Focus on Jesus, follow His commands and apply His principles and your life will move from glory to glory. Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
Take your eyes off the world, keep your gaze on Jesus, and you will find true happiness.
Confession for the Day
Glorious and everliving Father, I thank you for your word today. I choose this day to seek my happiness in Christ Jesus. I refuse to allow anything or anyone in this world to steal my joy, rather I choose to keep my focus in Christ and be happy in all things through Him in the name of Jesus. Amen!
