...the ransom for a man’s life is his wealth…” Proverbs 13:8 (AMP)

Lately, when the issue of money is discussed in church, most people feel uncomfortable because they somehow feel that someone is interested in their money. What they don’t realize is that one of the greatest pieces of advice they could ever receive is advice on how to be a better giver. It may not seem palatable, but this is something that everyone needs because there is a connection between the money you give for God’s work and your well-being. The Bible states that “…the ransom for a man’s life is his wealth…” Proverbs 13:8 (AMP). Meaning, your wealth can literally stand in for your life, but you must learn to give and not hoard your wealth. This world runs on certain principles; and until these principles are engaged, you cannot see the results that they are meant to generate. Therefore, be open to giving and don’t let the devil trick you into thinking that giving and sowing seeds are bad ideas.

You must understand that there is no promise or blessing for the one who receives throughout the Scriptures. The only promises found in the Bible are for those who give, not for those who stretch out their hands and expect to receive. Our Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 6:38 (NLT) said, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you…” In Acts 20:35, Paul the Apostle said, “…remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, “it is more blessed to give than to receive…” We could go on and on with lots of other examples, but all in all, you need to understand that it is always a blessing to give. When you give, you secure a pathway for financial blessings, promotion, speedy healing, and more. Consider giving your best today and watch God shower you with His blessings in various ways. The man who gives always stays on top, no matter how many forces are trying to pull him down. So start giving today and secure your entire life. Praise God!

CONFESSION FOR TODAY

My wealth is a ransom for my life; therefore, I refuse to hold back but give it away for the spread of the Gospel and to empower those who are less privileged. I declare that as I give today, I am reaping a hundred percent harvest from my seeds sown in the name of Jesus. Amen!
