“…He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God…” Romans 4:20 (NKJV)
One of the beautiful things about Christianity is that it is a living thing. It is a real relationship with the living God and in this relationship, there are many promises that have been given to us to help us scale through the challenges of this world. The men of old took hold of these promises and they ran with them even in the face of adversity.
A perfect example of a man who ran the race of life with the promises of God was Papa Abraham. You know his story and his struggles. For many years, he didn’t have a child and it didn’t look as though he would ever have a child but guess what? That did not deter him. The amazing part was that, even though he didn’t have a child, he held on to what he had, which was the promises of God. He held on to the promise of God like it was real. The Bible recorded that “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God…” Romans 4:20 (NKJV). Did you see that? He held on to the promise like it was real and in due time, the promise of God towards Him became flesh and till today, that promise can still be seen in the earth.
Beloved, if you truly want to walk with God and see unusual results, you must learn to search the scriptures for the promises of God regarding different areas of your life and hold on to that promise like it is real. Refuse to waver at the promises of God and keep it alive in your heart. When you do this sincerely and in faith, those promises will surely manifest in your life in due time. So, no matter what you face or go through, learn to hold on to the promises of God and don’t look back. Praise God!
