“…then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her…”- Luke 1:38 (NKJV)
Every time you hear the word of God or a message is been preached, how you respond to it, goes a long way to determine what the word of God will do in your life at that moment. Most times, when people hear the word of God, they play light on it and just see it as one of those things, but you see, because they did not respond to the word of God in faith, it does not make any difference in their lives. Beloved, if you really want to see God’s word manifest what it talks about in your life, you must learn to respond to the word in faith and hold on it to it tenaciously.
In our opening text, we see how Mary the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ responded to the word she received. When the angel of the Lord, gave her the word, she first of all said, “how can this be, seeing that I do not know a man?” (Luke 1:34 NKJV) But then the angel of the Lord, told her that the power of God will overshadow her and she will conceive. The moment she heard that, she said “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her…”- Luke 1:38 (NKJV). She understood the word and believed it and guess what, the word of the Lord through the angel came to pass. Why? Because she responded in faith. Beloved, an angel of the Lord may not appear to you like he did to marry, but everytime the word of the Lord comes you, learn to personalize it and respond to it in faith. That word you are hearing, may just be the answer that you have been looking for all these years. All that is required of you is to respond to it in faith. Praise God!
