“…I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So because you are lukewarm- neither hot nor cold- I am about to spit you out of my mouth…” Revelation 3:15-16 (NIV)
As you journey in your Christian walk, it is important that you make a conscious decision to refuse to be a lukewarm Christian. It is important that you choose to be all in for Jesus and all that He represents. This means, you have to take your eyes off every other thing that seeks to take the place of God in your life. This means you have to give your full attention to Jesus and His teachings and align yourself to His dictates and commands. It means that you become a prayerful believer who is studious and passionate for service towards God and soul winning. It means you will be a defender of the Gospel and a good representative of the Lord Jesus in your sphere of influence. There is no room for looking back or hanging on the fence as many do today. Too many today only want to be Christians by name, but are not willing to live out the Christian life.
The Israelites faced a similar dilemma and Joshua, God’s servant, had to challenge them to pick a side. He said …”if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord….” Joshua 24:15 (NIV), Did you see that? As far as Joshua was concerned, he couldn’t be found dancing around his choice. This means we can’t mix serving the Lord with serving another. It’s a decision we have to make, and we are obligated to follow and serve Jesus alone. We are under obligation to burn for Him and be the light to our world. Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
You cannot serve the Lord and serve the gods of your fathers; choose today whom you will serve!
Confession for the Day
I declare today that I have chosen the Lord God Almighty, the King of Glory, the Lord of lords because I know there is none like Him. I declare that I will not be found wanting or seeking another god in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
