” …but let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind…” —James 1:6 (NKJV)
Over the years, I have met several kinds of people. Amongst these people are two major categories: Those who are always doubtful, and those who are always full of faith. Something I discovered about those who always doubt is that they are never sure if they would achieve what they are working on or hoping to work on, because in their mind’s eye, they do not see any hope or possibility of that dream coming to pass. But those who are full of faith at all times, always put their faith to work in any circumstances, and they eventually get results. You know why? Because faith truly is the victory that overcomes this world. Beloved, if you are going to win in this world, you must make a conscious decision to stop doubting. All the power you require to achieve anything and everything is decided by what you are carrying in your mind. Faith and doubts are very powerful instruments for success and failure. To be successful you need faith, and to fail you need doubts. You need to choose what you really want and express it through your mind. Your mind is the carrier of our faith, fears and doubts. And you have a choice to decide what you want to carry in your mind. What you carry in your mind will determine your achievements or limitations.
God did not make man to have limitations. Every limitation that man faces in his life is determined by the fears and doubts he carries in his mind. Most people don’t know that doubts overpower faith. Even if you are currently having good success in your endeavor, the day you allow yourself to enter into a place of doubt, the current success will be overpowered by the doubts. Doubts overpower victories and initiates failure. The Bible shows us an example through peter. Peter saw our Lord Jesus Christ walking on water in Matthew 14: 28, “And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord if it’s you, command me to come to you on the water.” Peter had enough faith to know that he could do it if Jesus commanded it. And the Bible records that, “And when Peter had come out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.” Here Peter carried faith in his heart and it helped him succeed. He walked on water just as Jesus did. And finally Peter started to sink. Where did he go wrong? Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 14:31, “Oh you of little faith, why did you doubt?” It is amazing what doubts can do to success isn’t it? Peter was already succeeding, but just a little question in his heart, overpowered the success he had. Beloved, do not let doubts overshadow your success and victory. Do not give doubts the power to reign in your world. Rather give faith a chance. Give faith the opportunity that it requires to make you what God wants you to be.
