Prayer in the morning in a beautiful sunrise

“…so, Jesus answered them, “have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea; and does not doubt in his heart, but believers that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says…” Mark 11:22 (NKJV)

Most of the time when the year begins, a major question in the heart of many people “is will this New Year be better?” “Will I be able to achieve anything?” So, they start the year in fear because somehow, they think, if they haven’t been able to make it in the past couple of years, what is the guarantee that the New Year will be any different? Well, the guarantee that the New Year will be different is your faith walk. Beloved, as the new year has started, be hopeful and keep your faith in God. Whatever it is that you want to do and achieve in the New Year is possible, if your faith will rest in the power of God and not in the wisdom of men. A lot of times, the reason people start a New Year in fear and uncertainty is because their faith is in the wisdom and ability of men. They want to reason out everything but the possibilities of God cannot be found in the senses or reasoning. It is for this reason the Bible says, “…trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths…” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV).

Now, it didn’t end there, it also says, “…do not be wise in your own eyes…” Proverbs 3:7 (NKJV). Meaning, that if we are truly going to have a glorious New Year, we ought to take our eyes off our wisdom, our abilities, science, off our current capabilities and put our faith solely in God and in the power of His might. In God, all the possibilities you want to see in your life exist and faith in Him will help you to draw out those possibilities and make them a reality in your life. So as the year comes to an end today, arm yourself with this truth. Forget about all the failures you may have experienced over the years and decide that this year will be different. Remember, your faith walk is the difference that is needed to make a change because the victory that has overcome this world is our faith (1 John 5:4). So have no fear and run the race this year with confidence, because He who has started the good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Halleluiah!

The guarantee that the New Year will be different is your faith!

Confession for the Day

My faith O God is in you and not in the wisdom of men. Therefore, as the New Year commences, my focus will not be on my abilities or capabilities but on your power and might and as I do this, I make progress in the name of Jesus. Amen!
