“…put no more confidence in mortals. What are they worth?– Isaiah 2:22 (GNT)

Over and over again, you’d find believers who put their trust and confidence in men; and what they get in the end is disappointment. Do you know why? Because no man truly has the solution you are looking for. Everyone you see out there needs help in one way or another, and is in no position to give you the help that you really need. Unfortunately, many do not understand this truth.

Beloved, if you truly want to enjoy the help of God, you must discipline yourself to take your eyes off men and keep them on God and God alone. The reason is that the moment you begin to look to men for help, you shut the doors of divine help. And even though someone were to try to help you, only God can truly bring you the kind of help that will satisfy you. It is for this reason God said to the Israelites “…put no more confidence in mortals. What are they worth? – Isaiah 2:22 (GNT) So, I encourage you today to set your heart on God, he is the one who can truly help you.

Now, does this mean you should become arrogant and despise people? Certainly not. You must understand that God still uses men to reach out to men. So, if you start destroying relationships because you feel that only God can help you, you may destroy a relationship that God could have used to reach out to you.

So, as you journey in your Christian walk, put your faith in God but honor men. God can use anyone to reach out to you, and that in a lavish way. Little wonder the Bible says,  “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit….” Jeremiah 17:7-8 ( NKJV). So the next time you get tempted to put your confidence in mortals, you must remember this.

Today’s Rhema

Man’s help is never enough but God’s help is always more than enough!

Confession for the Day

Thank you Father for opening my eyes to the truth. I choose this day to keep my eyes on you and not on men because now, I know that man may disappoint me but you will never disappoint me. Praise God!
