“Never say anything that isn’t true. Have nothing to do with lies and misleading words.” — Proverbs 4:24 (GNT)

As a believer, one of the things you must avoid at all costs is a misleading mouth. Today, many people lie without hesitation—it has become second nature. They can’t hold a conversation without exaggerating or twisting the truth. But the question is, does God want us to live like this? The answer is no.

The Bible clearly says, “Never say anything that isn’t true. Have nothing to do with lies and misleading words.” — Proverbs 4:24 (GNT). Did you see that? These are direct and powerful instructions that, if followed, will help you live a life of truth and integrity. When you make it a habit to speak truthfully, others will be more likely to trust you and defend you when it matters most. But if you lie often and without remorse, people will take notice—and your word will lose its weight and value.

So, I urge you to make a conscious decision to always speak the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. At times, telling the truth might not be convenient and could even bring temporary trouble, but choose to stand by the truth anyway. The Bible says, “The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.” — Proverbs 12:19 (NKJV). And again, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.” — Proverbs 12:22 (NKJV).

These are not just suggestions—they’re divine standards. And if you hold fast to them, you will enjoy peace of mind, build trust with others, and walk in God’s favor. Hallelujah!
