Pursue God, Not Money or Career

…Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart…” Psalms 119:2 (NKJV)

One of the biggest mistakes I see a lot of God’s people make today is that they pursue their career/business and money and ignore God. You will find them going to different lengths just to make money, but when it comes to making sacrifices and going to different lengths for God, they shrug it off and think it’s not important. But the question is, is that really true? The funny part is that, when they see those who are following after God with all that they have, they laugh at them and feel they are wasting their time. But in the actual sense, they are the ones wasting their time. The Bible says, “…the labor of fools wearies them, For they do not even know how to go to the city…” Ecclesiastes 10:15 (NKJV). Who is a fool? The fool is the one who says there is no God; the one who thinks sacrifices for God are not worth it; the one who thinks the pursuit of God is a waste of time.

Beloved, if you ever find yourself pursuing a career and chasing after money while ignoring God, you have stepped into the trap of the enemy, and his goal is to see you destroyed. In Mark 8:34-37, our Lord Jesus Christ said,  “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?…” Mark 8:34-‬36 (NKJV). Did you see that? This statement speaks volumes. When you ignore God in the pursuit of money, you put your soul at great risk. You may be a regular attendee at church, doing things religiously, but your heart is no longer on God.

Therefore, refuse to be overtaken by the spirit of the world, whose only goal is to take you far from God. Sincerely pursue God, and everything else will follow. That business or money you are chasing is not worth losing your soul for. Always remember this and be guided. Praise God!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for opening my eyes to the true reality of life. I Choose this day to make you my priority, and I receive grace to make your kingdom my pursuit in life. No matter how the devil tries, I will not give in to his deception in Jesus name. Amen!
