When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heavens opened. (Luke 3:21)
Most Christians do not understand the power they possess and therefore do not make use of it. Many have become beggarly, yet they are possessors of heaven and earth. Many have become sickly, yet their Father has divine life and has given them the same life to inherit. Some have become cowardly, yet the Bible makes us understand that the coming of the Holy Spirit into our lives brings boldness.
When you take a close look at our opening text, it shows us the power available to the Christian in prayer. In Luke 3:21, the Bible says, “…while He prayed, the heavens opened…” It is important to note that the heavens didn’t just open coincidentally, nor did they open merely because He was baptized. The heavens opened as He began to pray to God. This clearly indicates that it was His prayers that opened the heavens unto Him. And when the heavens opened, there was a divine declaration concerning Jesus, and also a release of the Holy Spirit upon Him, who then empowered Him for the task that lay ahead of Him.
Now, you may be asking, “What is the significance of this?” When the heavens are opened, blessings pour out, and prayers are answered. But the heavens will not open unless you pray. As simple as this might sound, it is the truth. When we examine the life of Jesus, the miracles He performed were astounding. The way He spoke and the kind of authority He commanded were direct reflections of His consistent lifestyle of prayer.
My point is, if we can maintain a lifestyle of prayer as Jesus did, our heavens will be opened as well, because as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to despair over challenges you can address through prayer, or to worry excessively about your house rent or bills that need to be paid. Remember, heaven is waiting to open, and it can only open when you start praying. The primary issue is that most Christians may be comfortable not praying consistently, perhaps thinking prayer is a last resort rather than a primary means for change. Yet the Word of God was given to us as a guide, so we can see what others did in Bible days, learn from them, and potentially achieve even greater results. Praise God!

When you pray, the heavens open!
Confession for the day
I declare that as I pray, the windows of heaven are opened on my behalf, pouring out blessings on me, so much that I will not have enough room to receive it all. I decree that my heavens are opened according to the Scriptures, and they open every time I pray, in the name of Jesus. Amen!

This was very profound!
Prayer is the means to change, not the last resort.
Jesus Christ did powerful and extraordinary things, this takes my mind to the saying of a great woman of God , “don’t just celebrate the achievements of people only, look into their story and see what they did or what they do on a regular to be on that pedestal of results.” ( Paraphrased)
Jesus Christ had a solid prayer life, and that resulted In his extraordinary results !!
The heavens are eager to open into me, it just needs me to PRAY!!
