“…nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth? – Luke 18:8 (NKJV)
Beloved, one of the things you must make a conscious decision to do in your walk with God is to become more persistent in prayers. When you take a look at the verses that preceded the verse in our opening text, we see that our Lord Jesus Christ was telling us the parable of the persistent widow who kept on going to meet a Judge to get her Justice. The Judge at first didn’t want to do anything, but in the long run, the Judge decided to do something less she weary him. Now, at the end of that parable, Jesus Christ said “hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” – Luke 18:6-8 (NKJV). Jesus asked this question, because the whole essence of the parable He gave was to emphasize on persistence in prayers and waiting on the Lord. So, the question is, in your times of difficulties, are you persistent enough in prayers or have you given up too soon?
Well, the ideal thing to do is to persist in prayers because that’s what shows that you are still in faith. And guess what? If you persist in your petitions to God, He will always come through for you but again, I ask you, will you be persistent enough to keep on trusting God for a miracle? Will you be able to stand the test of time? This is where the challenge is and as Christians, it is important that we fight to win in this area. Sadly, that’s not the case for many Christians today. When they go through tough times, they get weak and chicken out, but the bible says, “…if you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small…” Proverbs 24:10 (NKJV). So, make a conscious decision to remain in faith no matter how long it takes. Make no room for fear, because you have not been given the spirit of fear but of power, of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7), if you hold on long enough, your faith will prevail. Do not be like many out there, who when confronted by some tough situations, instead of holding on and exercising their faith, they gave up, unknown to them that giving up is not a solution. So be encouraged to remain in the faith, real solution comes when you maintain your stand in faith and insist on your miracle.

Persistence in the place of prayer is the key to actualizing the desires of your heart!
