“…Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life…” – Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)
When you study the Bible carefully, you discover that it contains very important truths that every child of God ought to capitalize on to live a glorious life in this world. One of those truths is found in our opening text, taken from the book of Proverbs 4:23 where the Bible says, “guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life”. As simple as this statement is, it speaks volumes. It reveals to us a very important truth that can either change our lives forever or keep us redundant for a long time. Our hearts play a very important role in our day-to-day activities. If the Bible says, “…out of it spring the issues of life”, it therefore means that, to an extent, the circumstances of our lives will be determined by our hearts.
If things will go right in our lives, it will not come from our surroundings but from our hearts. Also, if things go out of line, it will ultimately be determined by our hearts too. So, with this information from the scriptures, we ought to properly administer what goes into our hearts and comes out of them. This is the reason, as a child of God, you have to consciously work on the state of your heart. Sadly, many believers are not mindful of this; they allow anything to get into their hearts and spoil the condition of their hearts. So, you find them sad and moody all day. Joy becomes far from them, and they start snapping at everyone and everything. Then they wonder what is going wrong in their lives. Beloved, learn to always check the condition of your heart; it is the determining factor in what happens in your life. If you want a glorious and flourishing life, then you must make sure the same already exists in your heart, and trust me, it will overflow into your life.

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for this wonderful, eye-opening article. I choose this day to guard my heart with all diligence. I refuse to allow just anything to get into my heart and I choose to allow the word of God into my heart over and over again in the name of Jesus. Amen!
