“….we are hedged in (pressed) on every side (troubled and oppressed in every way) but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; we are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted (to stand alone), we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (AMPC)

Are you going through some difficult moments and you are about to break under the pressure? Relax you were not meant to give up or break down under the pressure. That situation was not meant to have victory over you, you are the one meant to have victory over the situation therefore you have a responsibility to deny that situation victory over you. But if that is going to happen, you must deliberately work towards it. Situations don’t just bow, they bow only when there is a strong opposition against them and that opposition has to be you. You might say but what can I do to be that opposition? First of all, you need to work on your mind because every victory or defeat begins from there. If you have the mind-set of a loser you will find yourself losing in all things, but if you have the mind-set of a victor, you will always end up in victory. So you need to upgrade your mind-set by making up your mind that defeat or losing is not an option at all, only winning is allowed. Just that little adjustment can change everything. When we take a look at our opening scripture, you discover that Paul the apostle had a mind-set and it reflected in the way he spoke. He said “….we are hedged in (pressed) on every side (troubled and oppressed in every way) but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; we are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted (to stand alone), we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (AMPC) Did you see that?

A man who spoke like this, thinks differently. Now this takes us to the next line of action. If you have adjusted your mind-set, you must also adjust the way you talk. Whether you like it or not, your words go a long way to influence that situation positively or negatively. If all you say is the wrong words, then you are helping that situation to destroy you, but if your words are the right words, then you are denying the situation power over you. Most times, people tend to take these things lightly but guess what? It is in small matters like this that victory lies. Now, after you have done all these, you need to nurture your faith with God’s word, so as to enable you to build a strong faith to face the situation and conquer. Remember faith is needed to quench the fiery darts of the devil. So when you have done all these, continue in prayers, “…praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance…” Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV), knowing very well that as you continue in prayers, you weaken the strong hold of the situation over your life. You can’t continue with these things and remain the same. So build yourself with these few steps and go all out against that situation. You are destined to win and not to lose. God bless you!

Today’s Rhema

Situations don’t just bow, they bow only when there is a strong opposition against them and that opposition has to be you!

Confession for the Day

Father in the name of Jesus, I thank you for teaching me your word and revealing to me steps to take to defeat the adversary. I declare that as I take these steps and put your word to work, I abound with results through your grace and make giant strides and win in all situations in the name of Jesus. Amen!
