“…that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing…” 1Thessalonians 4: 11:-12 (NKJV)
Something I love about the Bible is that it has the answers to almost every issue of concern in life. Though not every issue has been directly addressed, you will often find the basic principles laid out. One issue that has been expressly addressed is the issue of lack. It says if you want to avoid lack, work with your hands. In other words, do something of value that will help you generate income because when you do, you will not be in lack. Now, having seen this in the scriptures, your responsibility as a Christian is to avoid lack by applying this principle. Say no to idleness and start doing something of value that will profit you in the long run. You might say I have tried something earlier but it didn’t work out right. Well, you may have to try again. The fact that you tried the first time and it failed does not mean that is what will be the order of the day.
A lot of times, the first, second and third try might not work out as planned, but trust me if you stay determined and persistent, you will surely achieve your goal. But do not be tempted to stop trying because to stop trying is to start dying. Every successful person today has tried and failed at something. Therefore, I encourage you to keep at it and keep getting better at what you do. Improve yourself, learn new skills and keep pushing. If you are into business, seek to expand. If it is a job you are looking for, seek to get one by all means and if you are already employed, seek to be the best at your workplace, because these are the keys to defeating lack and poverty once and for all.
Remember, poverty was not part of God’s design from the beginning neither is it His desire for any of His children. He has made all grace to abound to you in Christ Jesus. He has endowed you with all that you require to be rich and has also made available natural materials that can be harnessed and converted to money. But you have to be willing to work with your hands and do something. The Bible says, “…if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat…” in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NKJV). Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
Lack will be far from you if you deliberately choose to do something profitable with your hands!
Confession for the Day
Thank you Heavenly Father for this timely message, thank you for causing all grace to abound to me in Christ Jesus, and thank you for giving me all I require to put lack away forever. So, I declare that as I put in necessary efforts, I am fruitful and productive in all I do in the name of Jesus. Amen!
