“…rejoice always…” 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (NKJV)
One of the things I love about the scripture is that it gives us a very clear path to follow, and whoever decides to follow the leading of the scriptures will not regret it but excel in all things. One of the clear paths that we have been given to follow by the scriptures is to always rejoice. Yes, you heard me right. In our opening text, the Bible says, “…rejoice always…” 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (NKJV). As simple as this might sound, many people find it difficult to follow this path because of the challenges they face. But the truth is that irrespective of the challenges that we go through, the instruction given to us in scripture is to always rejoice. The question is, will you follow this path or not?
Unfortunately, many have chosen the path of sadness and depression. They feel there are no reasons to rejoice but that is not how God wants us to live our lives. God does not want you to rejoice because of external circumstances. God wants you to rejoice because this is the fruit that comes from the salvation that we have received. Our rejoicing comes from the knowledge we have of who we are in Christ Jesus and not what we are going through. When you know who you are in Christ Jesus, it doesn’t matter what the devil throws at you; you can’t help but rejoice because you know that against all odds, you will surely come out victorious. So, refuse to be like those who are in the world, who become sad because of the challenges they face. They behave that way because they have no hope and do not know where the solution will come from. But you are different because you know that your help comes from the Lord. The Psalmist understood this truth and he said, “…I will lift up my eyes to the hills- from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth….” Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV). Do you understand now? So, no matter what you face or go through, rejoice always and keep your faith in the ability of God. Halleluiah!
Today’s Rhema
Rejoice always because your help comes from the Lord and He will not withhold it from you!
Confession for the Day
My help comes from the Lord, therefore, I refuse to allow anything to steal my joy away. I know who I am and I choose to rejoice always, irrespective of the challenges that I face or go through. As I rejoice, I am making giant strides and coming out of any situation, victoriously, in Jesus name. Amen!
