…He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief…” Matthew 13:58 ( NKJV)

The Bible tells us in our opening verse that when Jesus Christ went to his hometown, he did not perform mighty miracles there, except for a few people whom He touched and healed.  Everywhere else he went, Jesus performed mighty miracles, and people were healed. But why not in his hometown?  Because the people there did not believe in him. Instead, they were offended at him because they didn’t think He was graced enough to bring them healing and deliverance.

The Bible says “…when He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?” Matthew 13:54-56 ( NKJV) Did you see that?

Did you see that?  In other places, people welcomed Jesus and what he offered. But in his hometown, they were offended by him.  Because of their unbelief, Jesus could not do many miracles there. Beloved, if you constantly analyze spiritual matters and try to be overly logical about everything related to God, miracles will be far from you. Miracles are for those who choose to believe, no matter how simple or seemingly foolish things may appear. So, to experience miracles regularly in your life, it is essential that you develop your faith and stop asking questions fueled by doubt. Instead, trust in what God has promised about you. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful truth. Today, I choose to get rid of doubt and every such thing. Rather, I choose to develop my faith and as I do this, I declare that my faith is delivering to me the right results in Jesus name. Amen!
