“…so He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:29‭-‬30 (NKJV)

The unrest in the world today has made it very difficult to live without fear or distractions. The kind of news emanating from the news channels alone are enough to make one discouraged, but you see in the midst of all these negativities around the world, there is one thing you can do that guarantees your focus and your well being. You might say but what exactly is this thing that can be done? Well, it is simple! Take our Lord Jesus Christ and His word seriously.

The key to overcoming this world is to give our Lord Jesus Christ your heart and let His word gain roots in your heart. When the words of Jesus are a priority in your life, you will always soar high in the midst of all the negativities out there. To help you understand this better, look at what He said. “….whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-‬27 (NKJV). Did you see that? This lets us know how important it is to take our Lord Jesus Christ and His word seriously. See to it that you align with His word and abide by it. When you do this, it doesn’t matter what happens around you, it will not bother you because you are building your life on a solid foundation. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for your grace and enlightenment. I decree that the grace to make Jesus and His word a priority is at work in my life and any thing that seeks that take that from me is arrested for good in the name of Jesus. Amen!
