love, died, cross

“….Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things….” I Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 (NKJV)

As you journey in your Christian walk, you have a responsibility to become mindful of the kind of love that you walk in because our world today is plagued with the kind of love where people want to love you in return for what they can get from you. It’s a kind of love that has conditions. So, you see people who would love you today and tomorrow when you can no longer meet up with their standards or expectations of you, they stop loving you. In most cases, you become an enemy. This kind of love is what the world practices today but this is not the kind of love that God wants you to practice. The kind of love that God wants you to walk in, is the agape love (The God-kind of love). This kind of love is without conditions. It loves you the way you are and does not expect anything from you. Even when you offend, it still chooses to love you beyond your offence. This is the kind of love that God wants you to walk in. So, as you journey in your walk with God, make a conscious decision to walk in this kind of love. Interestingly, when you became born again, this love was born in your heart. The Bible says, “…the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us…”Romans 5:5 (NKJV).

Therefore, it shouldn’t be a challenge to walk in this kind of love. All you need to do is submit to God’s kind of love, understand how it functions and just go ahead and love others accordingly. You might say but what kind of love is this? How does it function? It’s simple. The  Bible in our opening text, describes how this love functions, it says “…Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things….” I Corinthians 13:4‭-‬7 (NKJV). If you can just connect to this scripture and do what it says, you will find yourself walking in agape love, love without conditions. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

The love of God already exists in your heart because you were born with it, just walk in it!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for helping me understand the kind of love that I am expected to walk in. I choose this day to walk in this kind of love that has no conditions and as I do, I walk in the blessings of agape love in Jesus’ name. Amen!
