“…and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever….” John 14:16 (NIV)

Life is a journey on which every man has to answer for himself at one point or the other. There was a time when you were pampered and nurtured, but then a time comes when the one that was pampered has to take responsibility for himself. At that time, you would have no one to depend on but God. No one to call on but God. What I have noticed is that most people naturally tend to depend on someone they look up to. However, they are eventually disappointed when they call and find no help from man. This happens because they look in the wrong direction; they look to the wrong person for help. No one is equipped to be your perfect helper because everyone has their own problems that they also need help with. Man is only a channel; it is the Holy Spirit that has been sent to be our Helper. He is the one that orchestrates any help that you will receive.

Even if a man comes to our aid at our time of need, it will get to a point where he thinks you have asked too much, or has given you more than enough. But the Holy Spirit is not like that. The Bible says He will be with you forever. His ministry is to work with you forever, not just for some time. He doesn’t get tired of you asking Him for help. He is more than happy to do your bidding and bring you out of that mess. The Holy Spirit will never complain behind your back or joke about your predicament. He is the perfect help and all he is saying is, “turn to me all the time, not to man.” Sadly, most people have not come to understand that they have someone working along with them, who can’t be separated from them, no matter the situation. Someone who will never say no or turn his back on you. Someone who knows you and will never judge you. That is the Holy Spirit. Take advantage of His presence in your life because He is your helper. Amen!

Today’s Rhema

The Holy Spirit is your helper, stop looking to man.

Confession for the Day

Thank you Holy Spirit, for being my helper forever. I know now that you and I are a team, and I will always walk, and work with you. I will always turn to you, depend on you and not on man. Amen!
