He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, But he who refuses correction goes astray. —Proverbs 10:17 (NKJV)

People who listen when they are corrected will live, but those who will not admit that they are wrong are in danger. —Proverbs 10:17 (GNT)

When corrected, do you accept it, or do you get offended? Do you see the one who is correcting you as trying to help you, or as someone trying to belittle you?

Years ago, as a teenager, I never really liked corrections. However, I noticed that every time I was corrected, it helped me see my mistakes and gave me an opportunity to make adjustments. So, I began to accept corrections when they came. Years have passed, and I can boldly say that this attitude has helped me a great deal and prevented me from making many mistakes. It can help you as well.

The challenge today is that many people don’t want to be corrected. They just want to remain in their default state, which is not God’s plan for their lives. As a child of God, you must be willing to accept correction so that you can make necessary adjustments. You must understand that if you cannot accept correction, you have pride, and God opposes the proud.

Therefore, I encourage you to listen when you are corrected and be willing to make the necessary changes. Remember what the scripture says: “People who listen when they are corrected will live, but those who will not admit that they are wrong are in danger” (Proverbs 10:17, GNT).

Today’s Rhema

When you are open to correction, you are open to improvement!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful insight. I decree today that I am open to correction and humble enough to make necessary adjustments, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
