“….I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected….” Habakkuk 2:1 (NKJV)

If there is anything an average believer does more is to talk to God. There is always this feeling of I need to talk to God, I need to pour out my heart to Him and this is not a bad idea at all because even God encourages us to come to Him with words and present our case (Habbakuk 14:2). But you see while that is not a bad idea at all, it shouldn’t be the only thing that you are doing. If all you do is talk to God and not listen at all, you will be the only one talking and you will find yourself talking a lot and accomplishing nothing. Therefore, it is important that you learn to listen to God more.

Think about it, all these years that you have been speaking to God, have you really been listening to Him? Have you been paying attention to hear what He has to say to you regarding the things He is speaking to you about? Beloved, these are valid questions you should ask yourself. If you will listen to God as much as you speak to Him, you can be sure to walk in victory everyday of your life. Habakkuk the prophet said, “…I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected….” Habakkuk 2:1(NKJV). From this, you discover that the prophet was very particular about what God will say to Him. This is how you should live your life as well. So, as you journey in your Christian walk, I encourage you to learn to listen more to God and trust me He shall begin to guide you beyond your imagination.

Confession for the Day

Glorious God, I am grateful for bringing me understanding through your word. I decree today that henceforth, I will listen more to you and as I do, the grace and wisdom to understand your communications and take action is at work in me in the name of Jesus. Amen!
