“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV)

When you speak, do people get edified or do they get infuriated? Do people get blessed by your words, or do they get offended? Do your words add value to people’s lives, or do they leave them with a sense of defeat or regret? Well, just in case you never considered these questions, you should now, because they are very important.

Something many people never think about is the outcome of their words. Many people are talking, but not many pause to think about the quality of their words; not many truly stop to think about what their words do to others, and the reason for this phenomenon is that they are not conscious of the outcome of their words. The question is, should it be that way? Are we allowed to just talk without paying attention to the quality of our words? The answer is a big NO.

As a believer, God wants us to become conscious of the words that come out of our mouth. God wants our words to be a blessing to others, but if this is going to be possible, we have to deliberately speak words that will be a blessing. So as you journey in your Christian walk, make a conscious decision to always speak the right words. The Bible says in our opening text, “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.  Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV) Did you see that? Follow this counsel and watch your relationship with others move to the next level.

Today’s Rhema

Confession for the Day

Glorious and ever living father, I thank you for this wonderful truth you have communicated to me, I choose this day to become conscious of my words, and henceforth, I declare that my words will impart grace and blessing in the name of Jesus. Amen!
