For as he thinks in his heart, so is he… — Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)
Do you know that some people spend every day sitting down, resting their heads in their hands, and dwelling on all the negative things happening around them? Sadly, this is a reality for many. They struggle to sit back and count their blessings; instead, all they do is count their losses. They feel they should have achieved more and complain that nothing is working out.
In most cases, you will hear them say things like, “I don’t know why God has allowed me to go through this.” They speak as though God has done nothing for them. By dwelling on the wrong thoughts, they end up depressed and sad most of the time. Beloved, this is not the kind of life God wants you to live. You need to understand that meditating on negative things is a waste of your precious time and mental energy.
God gave us the ability to think so we could achieve great things, not to dwell on life’s negatives. Many people have ruined their lives with this mindset. They have focused so much on the negative that it becomes the only reality they experience. Their pessimistic thoughts attract negative incidents, and if you spend enough time with them, you can even catch their air of negativity.
However, I write to you today to encourage you to be different. Make a conscious decision not to spend your time dwelling on what isn’t happening, because that channels your thoughts in the wrong direction. Instead, spend your time reflecting on the things God has done for you. Acknowledge His works in your life, not the works of the enemy. Believe me, this is the best decision you can make.
God wants to see your gratitude for what He has already done. He is a faithful God, but do you recognize His faithfulness? When you acknowledge His goodness, you choose to celebrate His marvelous works and let go of the things that aren’t working out. I admonish you today to focus on what God is doing and celebrate those things wholeheartedly. When you do this, you position yourself for greater victories and exploits. Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
Let go of the things that are not working, and focus on the things that God has done and is still doing in your life!
Prayer
Father, I am so grateful for all the wonderful things You have done in my life. I am so grateful for divine health, provision, protection, and preservation. I choose to celebrate these in my life, and I declare that, no matter the odds, my focus will continually be on Your goodness in my life and nothing else in the name of Jesus. Amen!
