“Then he taught me, and said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them…” —Proverbs 4:4-6 (NIV)

From the scriptures, I believe there are two kinds of hearts. The first is the wilderness heart. This is a heart where nothing grows. It is the kind of heart into which nothing can be sown. Every word of God that is sown in this heart never gets deep enough.

The second is the fertile heart. The fertile heart is good soil for the word of God. This kind of heart does not resist the word, rather, it accepts and receives the word when it comes. It gives the word freedom to have its way and grow in every corner of the heart which ultimately produces a tree that later becomes a forest.

Right now you may be thinking, “What kind of heart do I possess? Do I have a wilderness heart or a fertile heart? The answer really is simple and can be found in how you receive the Word of God. If you easily accept and do the word, then, be glad because you have a fertile heart. With a heart like that, the Word of God can make anything out of you. It will never be difficult for you to produce fruits or results in life.

But to the one who has a wilderness heart, I say, “Congratulations!” because your time for change is now. You can make your heart a fertile one. If you have the kind of heart doesn’t easily accept the word or allow God’s instructions in your life, you just need to submit to the power of God’s word, and it becomes really easy for the word to grow in the depth of your heart. You need to stop doubting or choosing what to believe in the Bible. Accept what the Bible says about God and His laws, and let go of your ideologies, and your heart will become a fertile heart. And before you know it, you will begin to produce mighty results in your life. Take a step today and let the word of God flow in you like a river and remain blessed. Amen!
