The door of light to another space.

“…you are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden…” Matthew 5:14 (NKJV)

When our Lord Jesus Christ said, you are the light of the world in our opening text, do you know the significance of it? Do you understand what he meant? Well, in case you do not know, I am going to let you in on it. We are living in a world full of darkness and people are dying every day and getting lost for eternity because they do not know the truth about what Christ has done on the cross. Now, if ever they are going to know the truth, someone has to tell them. If they are going to claim their inheritance in Christ Jesus, someone has to tell them. If they are going to be saved for eternity, someone has to point them to the right path. But the question is, who will be the one to point them in the direction they should go? It is none other, but you and me. We are the ones God has kept and ordained to tell the world of what Jesus Christ has done. We are the ones to shine the light of the Gospel in our sphere of contact. We are the ones God has made to be the light that will dispel darkness in our places of influence.

Therefore, when Jesus Christ said you are the light of the world, He was saying, you are the one called to shine the light of the Gospel in places where the Gospel has not been heard. So, we must take this task very seriously as we journey in our Christian walk. Be conscious of the light that you are and the mission you are on. Refuse to live your life unconscious of this truth. Christianity is not a title but a responsibility- a responsibility to bring men to the light, where their eternal security will be sure. The Bible says “…all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation…” 2 Corinthians 5:18 (NKJV). So, you and I, have a responsibility to fulfil, we have work to do, and that job is to shine the light of the Gospel in our sphere of contact and places of influence. Therefore, be conscious of this truth and do all you can to be a good representative of the kingdom in your sphere of contact. It could be your school, work or business place. Be the light there and heaven will be proud of you. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

Christianity is not a title but a responsibility to restore men’s relationship with God!

Confession for the Day

I am the light of the world and the salt of the earth, therefore wherever I go, whatever I do, I will continually shine the light of the Gospel to my world and bring many to Christ in the name of Jesus. Amen!
