“…only let your conduct be worthy of the Gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs…”- Philippians 1:27 (NKJV)
Being a Christian doesn’t end with receiving Jesus into your life and accepting the Gospel. Beyond that, there is more that is expected of you. Your character must reflect the Gospel. If it doesn’t then, you have not fully received Jesus into your life or accepted the Gospel. I know this might sound a little harsh but that is just the truth. Receiving Jesus Christ into your life means, accepting the Gospel that He brought to us wholeheartedly and living accordingly. You cannot claim to accept Jesus and reject His message. If you have received Jesus, then you must accept His message by aligning your life to the message which is the Gospel.
Too many of God’s people don’t even understand what it really means to receive Jesus into their lives. They want to be in Christ and live with worldly principles. They don’t want Christ to express Himself through them. So there is a conflict going on within them. A part of them wants to live for Christ while another part wants to live in the world and express worldly traits. Beloved, you can’t afford to live this way because you are not of this world even though you are in this world. You must make a conscious decision to completely give yourself to Jesus and His word. Both are inseparable. If you are in Him, then let His ideas, thoughts and character reflect in all that you do. It was for this reason Paul the Apostle said to us, “be imitators of God as dear Children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma…” Ephesians 5:1 (NKJV). Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
If you are in Him, let His word, opinion and ideas show forth in your character!
Confession for the Day
Thank you my Father and my Maker, for this wonderful counsel. I choose this day to yield myself to your word, I choose to allow my character to be influenced by your word and as I do this, I am making tremendous progress and representing the kingdom well in the name of Jesus. Amen!
