“Be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (GNT)
Sometimes, the challenges of life can be so overwhelming that thanking God is the last thing on your mind. Even when the thought of giving thanks crosses your mind, you may find it difficult because you don’t see the need to. I understand this completely because I’ve been there. But one thing I learned during those tough times was that, regardless of the challenges I was facing, God had already done so much for me that deserved my gratitude. So, in the midst of those difficult situations, I made up my mind to still give God thanks for all He had done.
Beloved, if you truly want to live a life of gratitude, you must never let anything stop you from giving thanks to God. You must learn to look beyond life’s challenges and recognize God’s faithfulness. Thanksgiving isn’t something we do based on our current circumstances; it’s something we should do every day because it is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus. I know this might be hard for some to accept, but that’s what the scripture says. Our opening text states, “Be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (GNT). Our situations shouldn’t dictate our thanksgiving. Instead, we give thanks because it’s a command from God and an acknowledgment of His faithfulness in our lives. So, as you continue on your Christian journey, let nothing stop you from giving thanks.

Confession for the Day
Father, I thank You for opening my eyes to the truth about thanksgiving. I choose this day to be thankful in all things and in all situations. As I do this, I am soaring higher in life and prevailing over the circumstances of life in Jesus’ name. Amen!
