Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. —Isaiah 9:7 (NKJV)

“For there’s no one like You… none like You, the King shall reign forevermore, forevermore.” I cannot stop singing this song in my heart! I feel like shouting it out for the whole world to hear: we have a King who will reign forever and ever. He is a King whose tenure never ends. He has always been King, He has appointed all other kings, and He is reigning right now.

This King is Jesus, and His dominion is eternal. Why not let this King reign in your every thought? Why not make Him the only authority whose voice and command you truly obey? We know that He is the only King whose kingdom is without end. As we enjoy the fresh breeze of the New Year, it is very easy to become distracted by the various goals we want to achieve.

Many people will spend this time chasing after new projects and financial gain. Some will say the year is still fresh, so the earlier they start on their plans, the better. However, as you explore new ideas, you must always remember the King and what He wants for you. Let Him reign in your heart just as those ideas come pouring in.

Do not toss Him aside in the pursuit of your dreams. Sometimes our ambitions can make us self-seeking or self-centered, causing us to forget what the Lord really desires or how He wants us to work. This is actually the time to cling to Him more than ever, because He alone can bring your ideas into the light of success.

There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. —Proverbs 19:21 (NKJV)

Let your thoughts flow with love and reverence for the King. Seek to achieve great things with Him by your side rather than trying to go it alone. Trust in the King’s decisions and His divine opinion over your own. Lean on His counsel and direction in every move you make.

Remember that there is always a distinct difference between those who serve the Lord and those who do not. Let the King take delight in your success because of your love for Him and the relationship you maintain with Him. Jesus is the Lord of all; without Him, nothing could have been made. Without Him, no dream can truly come to light, and no idea can be built on a firm foundation.

Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. —Malachi 3:18 (NKJV)

Oh Lord Jesus, King of the Universe! I declare this day that You reign in my life and in my heart. My relationship with You comes from the depths of my spirit.
