“…If we love others, we live in the light, and so there is nothing in us that will cause someone else to sin…”1 John 2:10 (GNT)

In the first part of this article, we established the importance of loving others. You see, this is one thing we must do in our Christian walk that proves that we truly have received and understood the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The challenge today is that many believers still find it difficult to walk in love toward others. God, in His infinite mercy, does not want us to practice the kind of love that is based on conditions, and the reason is because, if we have to do that, our love towards others will be a biased and partial one. True love, which is God’s love, is without prejudice. It lacks any set rules or conditions. Therefore, it is important that as you journey in your Christian walk, you deliberately walk in this kind of love. You must learn to love people regardless of their background, caste, tribe, behavior, or character. You must learn to love others regardless of their beliefs, ideologies, and opinions.

Now, this might sound ridiculous to some people. In fact, someone might ask, “How is it possible to love someone even when they do not deserve it?” Well, you have to change your perspective and notions about love. What do I mean by that? Most people think love is a choice. Somehow, they have this idea that, you are to love only those who deserve it, but the truth is that God’s love does not work that way. God’s love, which has been shed abroad in our hearts (Romans 5:5) is an unconditional one. It is not a choice but a command, and that’s the reason our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these…”Mark 12:30–31 (NKJV). From this, you realize that love is a command and not a choice, therefore, treat it as such. Praise God!
