Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; —Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)
One common mistake many believers make is the assumption that they can figure everything out on their own. Some feel they possess enough knowledge or experience to the point where they believe they do not actually need the Father’s help. I have even heard people claim that God is unnecessary for success. While that may sound appealing to some, it is simply not true.
Beloved, do not let anyone convince you that you don’t need God. It is true that some individuals appear to do well for themselves without seeking Him, but true life is not just about achieving goals. It is about succeeding within the specific will and plan of God. A person may succeed outside of His will, but in the eyes of the Creator, they have missed the mark. In most cases, that kind of success will not endure the test of time.
If you want to succeed this year according to the Word, you must learn to lean on the power of the Savior rather than your own understanding. You might ask why this is so critical. The truth is that our human understanding is limited and can only go as far as our finite knowledge allows. We see only a small part of the picture, while the Lord sees the end from the beginning.
The Father is all-knowing. He knows every detail about your past, your present, and your future. He knows exactly how to align you with His divine plans and purposes. He knows how to connect you with the right opportunities and individuals with the necessary resources. Run through this year with this truth firmly fixed in your mind.
No matter how complicated a situation may seem, do not rely on your own logic. Instead, lean on the wisdom and power of the Redeemer. At first, it may feel as though you are waiting in vain, but if you keep depending on Him, you will surely receive a divine leading. This guidance will help you emerge as a winner in every circumstance. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for this wonderful counsel. I refuse to lean on my own understanding from this day forward. I choose to lean on Your wisdom and power, and this is causing me to prevail in all areas of life, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
