…strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel  — (Proverbs 24:6 MSG)

Beloved, do you know your adversary and the strategies he uses against you? Do you recognize how he plays his cards? You must, for knowing his tactics positions you to win rather than be defeated.

Consider a football team preparing for a World Cup match. Coaches compile videos of their opponents—studying each player’s strengths and weaknesses—to field the right lineup. No team enters the pitch blind; they scout, analyze, and strategize to ensure victory. Without this knowledge, they’d confront their rivals in ignorance.

In the same way, every Christian must acknowledge an adversary who works against us day and night. He studies us: what distracts us, what instills fear, what makes us unstable. Many have lost focus, abandoned their callings, or derailed their dreams because the enemy knew exactly when and how to strike.

Ask yourself: are you observing the devil’s tactics against you? Do you study his strategies so you can counter them? Why is it that just when you intend to pray, some urgent distraction steals your time? That is his strategy. Why do you sometimes conceive ideas that oppose God’s vision for your life? Because the adversary doesn’t want you to partake in the blessings reserved for those who pursue God’s purposes.

My advice today is simple: know your adversary. Study and understand his strategies. Then resist him with the wisdom you’ve gained, and he will not succeed in his schemes. As the Bible declares, Resist the devil and he will flee from you — (James 4:7 NIV).

Study the adversary in order to defeat him in his game!

Confession for the Day

Dear Father, we thank You for opening our eyes to see and granting us wisdom. Help us to know what is required to defeat the adversary, to discern his tricks, and to walk victoriously over every scheme he sets. Thank You, Father! Amen!
