“….Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life….” Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

One of the mysteries about life that the Bible communicates to us, is the relationship between our heart and the events that take place in our lives. The Bible says, “….Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life….” Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV). Meaning, what happens in our heart, determines what happens in our lives.

Now, as simple as this might sound, it holds the key to your future. Beloved, whether you believe it or not, if the Bible says out of your heart flows the issues of life, then that is what it is. You have to take it seriously and keep your heart free from anything that will become a hindrance because your heart is like a tree and the fruit it will produce is dependent on what is coming out of the tree.

If your heart is full of anger, unforgiveness, bitterness and jealousy, then the outcome will be very destructive because the Bible says, “….where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there…”James 3:16 (NKJV). In another part of the scripture, the Bible says “….wrath kills a foolish man, and envy slays a simple one…”Job 5:2 (NKJV). Did you see that? Beloved, as you journey in your Christian walk, it is important that you become mindful of these things. Make a determined decision to keep your heart free from all hate, jealousy, envy and the likes of it. Instead let your heart be filled with love, gratitude, peace and hope. When you live like this, the outcome can be very life changing and that is why the Bible says “….a calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones….”Proverbs 14:30 (AMPC). So, be guided and deliberately keep your heart free from anything that will pollute your life.
