Walking on Water

“Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for Him, He thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and He is now seated at the right side of God’s throne.” — Hebrews 12:2 (GNT)

As you continue in your walk with God, one of the most important things you must do—especially in the face of life’s challenges—is to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Why? Because our faith depends on Him. He is the author and finisher of our faith, and as long as our focus remains on Him, we will not sink or fail. But the moment we take our gaze off Him and fix it on our problems, we begin to lose strength, clarity, and hope. Our faith weakens, and we begin to empower the very problems we’re trying to overcome. This is not God’s plan for your life.

Child of God, no matter the pressure you’re under, keep your gaze on Jesus. In Him, you will find the boldness, strength, and wisdom needed to confront every situation and emerge victorious. You might ask, “How does keeping my eyes on Jesus help with my situation?” It helps immensely because what you focus on influences the direction and strength of your faith. If your attention is locked on your circumstances, fear will rise, and the problem will appear bigger than it truly is. But if you shift your gaze to Jesus, faith will rise, and grace will flow. You will begin to see solutions instead of barriers, hope instead of despair, and victory instead of defeat.

The Bible reminds us that Jesus endured the cross not because it was easy, but because of the joy that was set before Him. He kept His eyes on the outcome—not the pain. And now, He is glorified. In the same way, when you keep your eyes on Him, you will be empowered to endure, to overcome, and to triumph.

Today’s Rhema

As long as your gaze is on Jesus, your faith will surely prevail. But if you do the opposite, your faith will be weak!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this glorious truth You have revealed to me today. I choose, therefore, to fix my gaze on Jesus. As I do this, I receive the grace to prevail over every contrary situation in Jesus’ name. Amen!
