‭‭”…all of us were like sheep that were lost, each of us going his own way. But the Lord made the punishment fall on him, the punishment all of us deserved…” Isaiah 53:6(GNT)

One of the glorious things about the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ is He received the punishment that was supposed to come to us. It may sound too good to be true but trust me, it’s the truth. It is a reality and no fairy tale. If our Jesus had not come, we would have been destroyed by the punishment for our sins; but He received that punishment in our place. The Bible says, “…the Lord made the punishment fall on him, the punishment all of us deserved…” Isaiah 53:6(GNT). Did you see that?

Now, what is the significance of this truth? Well, it is simple! The punishment that was due to come to us has already been given to another (Jesus Christ). Today, what we receive is the blessing, which is justification before God. The devil will stop at nothing to make you believe that you are guilty; he will make you feel that you do not deserve to be heard by God and your prayers will make no impact. Worst of all, he will make you feel that you will not end up in heaven because of sin, but this is where you need to know what Jesus Christ did for you and stand your ground in truth.

The Bible says, “…because of our sins he was given over to die, and he was raised to life in order to put us right with God….”Romans 4:25 (GNT). In another translation, it says He “‭was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification…” Romans 4:25 (NKJV). Did you see that? In another part of the Bible, it says, “…‭‭because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received….” Isaiah 53:5 (GNT). These are the truths you need to stand your ground and when you do, the devil’s voice will fade away because you are running with truth. So, I encourage you to take this seriously and live in the consciousness of it.

Today’s Rhema

No matter what the devil tries with you, always remember that Jesus was punished because of you!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this wonderful exposé. I will live in the consciousness of this truth now and all the days of my life in the name of Jesus. Amen!
