“…stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes (in the using), but strive and work and produce rather for the (lasting) food which endures (continually) unto life eternal…” —John 6:27 (AMPC)
One of the most important things in life today is what you invest your life in. Most people have spent their lives on their careers; some have spent their lives in clubs and parties, while others have spent their lives pursuing worldly achievement, which according to the world’s standards is not a bad idea. But you see, at the end of the day, it profits them nothing because one day they will leave this world for their eternal destination, and all those things will not matter anymore. The only thing that will matter then will be the investment they made, which has eternal value. And if it happens that they never invested their lives in things that have eternal value, they will have nothing to show for the life they lived here on earth.
Therefore, it is important that you understand that, as a Christian, you ought to invest your life in things that are of eternal value so that you can have something to fall back on when you leave this world. Now, the only thing that you can actually invest your life in today that will bring you eternal benefits is the work of the Kingdom. Whether we like it or not, God’s plan concerning this world is already in motion. The world is certainly going to come to an end, and His kingdom will be fully established on the new earth.
However, only those who invested their lives in Kingdom matters will benefit from it when the time comes. So I ask you today: What have you been investing your life in? Does it have eternal benefits? If it does not, it is time to make amends, because it is not too late. Trust me, when you make a decision to invest your life in the work of the Kingdom and participate in turning many to righteousness, you will shine like the stars because it is written, “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever…” Daniel 12:3 (NKJV)
