“I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. The greatest in the kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child.” – Matthew 18:3–4 (GNT)

Everybody wants to be great. Everybody wants to succeed in life, become influential, and make a lasting impact. It’s a noble aspiration—and thankfully, it doesn’t take God anything to make a person great.

All through scripture, we see examples of people who were raised up by God. Solomon, the youngest of David’s sons, was made king instead of his older brother Adonijah. David, a humble shepherd boy, was chosen to replace Saul on the throne. Joseph, once a slave and prisoner, was elevated to become Prime Minister in a foreign land. Esther, an orphan, became queen over all the other beautiful women who sought the king’s favor.

It takes God nothing to lift a person up. He can raise someone from obscurity and seat them with kings. But greatness always comes with a price. The question is: how many are willing to pay it?

In today’s opening text, Jesus reveals that the greatest in the kingdom is the one who humbles himself. This tells us that God desires humility from His children. While we’re all reaching for greatness, we must also examine how humble we truly are before the Lord.

How do you respond to correction? Do you get angry or defensive when you’re rebuked? Are you able to apologize when you’re wrong? If pride still controls your reactions, it’s time to shine the light of God’s Word into those areas and replace pride with genuine humility.

Beloved, your time to rise is now. Your season to dine with kings has come. But the only thing that can stand in your way is pride. If you deal with it, nothing will stop you from walking into your preordained destiny. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

There is greatness in you. There is greatness in your path. Only humility will take you there!

Confession for the Day

Heavenly Father, I thank You for opening my eyes to look within and take the steps that lead to greatness. I declare that every trace of pride in me is replaced with humility, and by that humility, I walk into the place of greatness You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
