Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me, because you will seek me with all your heart.
—Jeremiah 29:12–13 (GNT)
Over the years, I have met people who say, “I prayed, but nothing happened, so I stopped praying.” Do you know why such experiences occur? Often, it is because people pray, but not with all their heart. They go through the motions of prayer, yet their hearts are divided and unfocused. When prayer is approached this way, it rarely produces the answers they are looking for.
If you truly desire results, you must pray with all your heart. This kind of prayer is not done casually or amid distractions, nor is it done while being consumed by burdens that weigh you down. It is prayer that gives God full attention and refuses to quit until answers come. Many who claim prayer does not work actually gave up too soon, and that is why they saw no results. If you choose to be different, you must learn to pray wholeheartedly and deliberately avoid distraction.
Consider the widow in Luke 18, who kept coming to the judge for justice. She sought him persistently and refused to give up until her request was granted. The judge said, “Even though I don’t fear God or respect people, yet because of all the trouble this widow is giving me, I will see to it that she gets her rights. If I don’t, she will keep on coming and finally wear me out!”
—Luke 18:4–5 (GNT)
Did you see that? The widow’s persistence made the difference. In the same way, when you go to God in prayer, do it with all your heart. Do not pray haphazardly or while distracted, and you will be amazed at the results that follow. Praise God!

Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for revealing Your word to me. I choose this day to pray with all my heart, and as I do, I bear fruit in Jesus’ name. Amen.
